Compagnie A Tire d’ailes
The A Tire d’Ailes company was founded in 2002, borne along by the light, enchanting breath of transverse flutes. Since then, it has brought words and notes into harmony, forging unforgettable collaborations with inspired actors such as Maulde Coutau and Vincent Aubert. Together, they have brought to life performances where music and theater merge—works like *Trois Flûtes et une Souris*, *À la Lettre*, *Ça vous prend souvent?*, and *Au Creux du Jardin*, in which the text by Frédérique Baud-Bachten engages in a dialogue with original compositions by Ludovic Thirvaudey.
Their repertoire is a journey across centuries and cultures: ranging from the Baroque dances of Telemann and Boismortier to the captivating strains of Piazzolla, and from the soundscapes of Grieg and Dvořák to contemporary works by Huber, Giraud, and Thirvaudey—not to mention traditional songs from Ireland, Latin America, and Eastern lands. Their concerts and performances offer an escape and create moments rich in emotion.
Their flutes have resonated in numerous venues across the region, including the Printemps Musical de Chamonix, Théâtre l’Alchimic, Villa Dutoit, the Geneva Conservatory, and the Galerie de La Chapelle. In 2019, Emilie Jacquelin and subsequently Tanjia Muller joined the venture, infusing the ensemble with new energy. This led to the creation of *La Fée du Sureau*, a magical show premiered at Villa Dutoit in 2022 and performed in locations ranging from Collonges-Bellerive to Geneva, and from Gex to Valleiry.
In 2025, Elodie Payraud joined this creative alchemy, transforming the quartet into a quintet. Their music flourishes at the Sion Schubertiade, while a new project blending flutes and dance is taking shape with actress and dancer Romaine Cochet. The A Tire d’Ailes company, ever in motion, continues to compose its own score, balancing the established repertoire with original creations.
